Social Networks and Your Job Search

Beware of what you are advertising on your social networks (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace) I know of some companies and some agencies who Google candidates in order to get a "personality check" done before contacting them for an interview or before making an offer of employment.

This is a scary thought! So my advice to you would be to keep it clean (And always make sure your accounts are blocked from strangers).

If a company views your profile and sees that you use foul language on a regular basis or that you always talking about "getting your drink on" or even you complaining about your job or employer. This will reflect badly on you. And have a decent profile picture!

So remember that Actions speak louder than Words!

Indeed this is a very helpful tip as employers have been known to do google searches on perspective employees before considering them for the position.

Google has been called 'The internet's all seeing eye' so keeping it clean could mean the difference between landing that job & bombing out!
